H & M Ironworks was founded in 1968 by the late Edward (Ned) Hudson. He used his blacksmithing skills combined with more modern engineering to produce high quality wrought iron at a reasonable cost. From modest beginnings his business expanded and with his family following in his footsteps the company has continued to grow and constantly strives for further success.

Our product range includes general steel works, gates, sliding gates, automatic gates, bespoke works, balconies, railings, structural steel.

We also specialize in restoration of Georgian cast & wrought iron gates & railings and in the replication of the same.

We have a highly qualified team who are willing to undertake works at all levels from domestic gates to working on high profile projects and restoration works.

With over forty five years experience, we give solid & professional advice and assistance to our customers and help with design whether from photographs or imagination. Our skilled sales team will assist in turning ideas into finished products that everyone will be proud of.

Staff Profiles

Brian Hudson – Managing Director
Brian is the managing director of H & M Ironworks, having taken over from his late father in 1985. From day one Brian directed the company to fabricate exceptional work at affordable prices. He has very hands on approach with every aspect of the business from design to installation which has helped the company to move forward in this current economic climate.

Aidan Whelan – Factory/Site Foreman
Aidan is the longest serving member of staff at H & M and has a vast knowledge in all aspects of the steel industry. In 1997 he took over the running of our workshop and has helped the company succeed with his design skills and customer relations. Aidan is responsible for our customer service which he handles with precision to detail. Aidan is also qualified in manual handling and safety regulations.

Deirdre Nolan – Accounts and H/R manager
Deirdre has been with us for over 10 years. Deirdre looks after the running of the day to day administration, including all billing and accounts queries. She is also responsible for ensuring our staff issues are dealt with in a timely & efficient manner. She is one of the most important parts of H & M and is a person customers can rely on.

Kevin Costello – Assistant Factory/Site foreman
Kevin has been with H & M for over 20 years. Kevin is charged with the day to day running of the warehouse and is responsible for the productivity of all our fabrication requirements. In addition he has an active responsibility for staff issues which he deals with, in an efficient & experienced manner.

Aaron Hudson- Operations and Technical Sales Manager                                                                                             Aaron Joined H & M in 2010 coming from a sales background in Eircom. Aaron is responsible for the sales and maintenance of our manual and automated gate systems. He has a vast knowledge on the technical side and is a reliable member of our staff that our customers can call on for any issues no matter how big or small.
